How to commission Tamper Prepaid Meter |
|
This procedure is only applicable to prepaid meters supplied with tamper latch.
Before a meter will work it must be commissioned using a commissioning token. The commissioning token enables the meter, connecting it to the mains electrical supply and enabling the tamper detection feature./p>
The commissioning token number for each meter is printed on the documentation pamphlet supplied with each meter.
-
With the upstream AC main supply circuit breaker open (OFF), enter the commissioning token using the key pad on the meter.
-
Apply the AC main power by closing (ON) the main supply circuit breaker.
-
Ensure the supply is connected by powering on an electrical appliance or a light bulb.
-
Monitor the meters rate LED.
The LED should pulse, showing that electricity is being consumed.
-
Secure the meter, inserting any security clips and crimping the metal security seals.
Do not insert the security clips and apply the security seals before appliances within the dwelling are working and the meters rate LED is pulsing. This will help avoid the situation of having to break the metal security seals and open the security clips if things don't work as expected.
