Every meter is shipped with documentation that explains the physical mounting and wiring of the meter. The following information explains the principle concept of how the meters are wired in single and multiple dwelling situations.
NOTE: For safety purposes and to ensure the integrity of your Electrical Compliance it is recomended that installation is performed by a Certified Electrician.
DO NOT try to install yourself if you are NOT a Certified Electrician. If you damage the meter you will NOT get a refund and if you get hurt in any way, we hold no liability or responsibility for your actions.

Single Dwelling
The figure below shows the basic wiring concept for a single dwelling such as a single house, flat or granny flat. The meter is installed directly after the main circuit breaker. This ensures that the meter can be adequately isolated during installation and is in compliance with local electrical compliance requirements.
The figure below is an electrical schematic providing a more detailed explanation of how an electrician will wire the meter.
Multiple Dwelling
The figure below shows the basic wiring concept where multiple dwellings units connected to a single municipal meter are concerned. For example a sectional title scheme or a property with multiple distribution boards serving more than one dwelling unit. The meters are installed directly after the main circuit breaker in each dwelling unit. This ensures that the meters can be adequately isolated during installation and is in compliance with local electrical compliance requirements.
The figure below is an electrical schematic providing a more detailed explanation of how an electrician will wire the meters.
